On 2/22/22,
twin sisters were born in the Mercy Hospital in NYC at 2:20 and 2:22
in the am. That seems like a blessed event, but other pairings just don't match 'em. Some things well done twice: measure for sawing, look before crossing, lock ere leaving, and read fore texting. Some things are best undoubled: chip dipping, crossing, dealing, and makeable contracts in bidding. Some things are best when shared: seesawing, tangoing, laughing, and heartfelt memories. Some things are best unshared: secrets, passwords, toothbrushes, lanes, and French fries. Some things form singular pairs: scissors, pliers, glasses, pants, and drawers. Some things need be in pairs: twins, knitting needles, crutches, nuts and bolts, oars, and bridge partners. Some things are never paired: trios, position/momentum, objects in the same space, and matter/antimatter. Noah boarded his animals two by two, but needs we must duo so? Why "lather, rinse, and repeat" now that "a little dab'll do ya" is so ago? Do watch batteries come in two-packs, just so they can die as one? When it comes to "just take two", couldn't they just make a bigger aspirin? Mounds are packaged in twos too - is that for a heaping mound of sugar fix? And do we really need to eat two consecutive Reeses, Twinkies or Twix? They often tout singular oners in the news, but, in salute, "here's to twos too." |
